Sydney cake queen Katherine Sabbath is one of the coolest creatives around, loved equally for her cutting-edge dessert designs and quirky personal style. Kat is a high school teacher turned cake creative whose unique designs have featured in print internationally, online, TV, and even on a sold out collection of pyjamas, wine, accessories, and couture tutus! She shares it all with her community of half a million followers, who hang on every sprinkle. Her fans are so devoted they have even been known to sport her cake designs as permanent tattoos.
Kat is the author of 3 x best selling cookbooks, “Katherine Sabbath Greatest Hits: The Pop Edition” (2017), “Bake Australia Great” (2019), and Bake My Day (2022).
With a background in education, fashion, food and public speaking, she is an experienced and confident creative, bringing a unique and playful perspective to every project. Kat has had the honour of featuring on Australia’s most respected cooking show, MasterChef, as a guest judge during Sweet Week. In 2022 she achieved one of her lifetime goals of being a guest host on the iconic children’s show, Playschool Art Time on ABC (yay!). Not one to shy away from a challenge, she recently competed in Channel 10's Dessert Masters, showcasing Australia's most talented pastry chefs. Over the last decade, she continues to consider herself immensely lucky to collaborate with a host of global clients.
Committed to improving local & broader communities around her, Kat is an ambassador for charity organisations such as Two Good Co, Barnardos Australia, & UNICEF Australia.
Forever a cheerleader for colour and creativity, Kat is the proud owner of Creative Cake Decorating – a premium Australian-made food colouring and cake decorating products company, established in 1986. She works here part-time, whilst continuing to celebrate the joy of creative cake making with dessert lovers worldwide.
Kat lives in Sydney/Gadigal Land with her partner Troy, daughter Zemirah (Zee), doggie bestie Pluto, & their rescue Jungle Python named Bort.
